10/30/2020 Mac Mail App Won't Update

That is the last date that my mail will show. I have not been able to find ANY solution to fix this. When I go the the start menu and click on the tile for mail my machine just spins. When I click on the task bar mail shortcut, I see the mail from Jan 3.
